A little about us...​Cosmic Theatre School is a fresh, dynamic company with groups around the Midlands. Our ethos is simple, to inspire our students and fill them with the confidence they need to pursue a career in the arts. All groups at Cosmic put on two shows a year, a full scale musical and a showcase, where creativity is actively encouraged and developed. We are not a franchise or a chain- our groups are run by experienced teachers and regularly visited West End performers, recording artists and screen actors. Here at Cosmic, we encourage our students to be creative. They have opportunities to write, choreograph and work in collaboration with quality industry practitioners. All of our staff are degree educated and have a wealth of performance experience
What is a Theatre School?

At Cosmic Theatre School our students receive a well rounded education in Singing, Dancing and Acting. We teach them theoretical knowledge of the arts as well as using our shows for the practical application of the skills developed during the term. Students have the opportunity to sit all LAMDA exams including the following: Musical Theatre, Devising Drama, Group Musical Theatre, Shakespeare and Public Speaking. We also offer graded singing exams with LCM and Rockschool.

ALL Students also perform in two full scale shows per year in lovely theatres!

Our sessions are weekly, we run through the school holidays!

Singing
Singing is a fantastic skill to develop for children regardless of their interest in the arts. It inspires confidence, boosts self esteem and makes children happy. There is a growing body of evidence that singing in a choral setting is likely to have a positive impact on an individual's mood, well-being and reduce stress. We are proud to teach our students with correct vocal technique. Our singing teachers are all highly trained voice teachers, with masters degrees and some going on to pursue PHD research in the subject, as well as being experienced performers in their own right. We ensure that all students have the chance to sing solo performances at our regular showcase performances if they are particularly keen on singing.

Acting
We teach students fundamental skills in acting, but most importantly we encourage them to be creative and work together as a team. Our sessions are fun filled and energetic with games throughout. Students at Cosmic work a lot on improvisation and devise their own pieces regularly, these pieces are performed at our showcases. Many friendships and creative collaborations have been formed through our acting classes, they are fantastic for boosting confidence both on stage and in real life. We teach our students how to create and embrace characters, using emotions, physical movement and gesture. We work hard to push through stages of embarrassment common in young performers by creating a safe and nurturing environment for students to explore emotion.

Dancing
At Cosmic Theatre School, we love to dance! Dancing is an excellent way to keep fit and promotes positive mental and physical health in an age where screens can take over our lives. We train students in a variety of dance styles including jazz, contemporary and street dance. Our dance teachers are energetic, talented and make our classes an exciting experience. Dance teaches our students about posture, alignment and aids with coordination, flexibility and strength.
